شرح قاعدة صيغة الجمع المنتظم غير المنتظم Plurals - regular/irregular
Plural forms صيغ الجمع
• most nouns take -s (in the plural)
الكثير من الأسماء تأخذ في نهايتها s في حالة الجمع.
أمثـلة:
cat ⇒ cats
computer ⇒ computers
• nouns ending in -s, -ch, -sh, -x, -o, take -es
الأسماء التي تنتهي بالنهايات التالية s أو ch أو sh أو x أو o
تأخذ في نهايتها es
أمثلة:
box ⇒ boxes
watch ⇒ watches
• nouns ending in a consonant + -y, drop the -y and take -ies
الأسماء التي تنتهي بـ y فإننا نُسقط الـ y ونستبدلها بـ ies
الأمثلة:
country ⇒ countries
BUT
boy ⇒ boys
• nouns ending in -f or -fe, take -ves
الأسماء التي تنتهي بـ f أو fe فإننا نُسقطها ونستبدلها بـ ves
مثال:
scarf ⇒ scarves
irREGUL AR NOUNS أسماء جمع غير منتظمة (شاذة) أي لانطبق عليها النقاط السابقة

• Adjectives do not have a plural form.
