بيان الإسلام والإيمان و الإحسان

Statement Of Islam, Iman and Ihsan

جدول الجمل من الحديث :

ذات يوم	one day
بينما	while
نحن جلوس	we are sitting
عند رسول الله	with the messenger of Allah
إذ طلع علينا	there appeared before us
رجل	a man whose
شديد	exceedingly
شديد بياض الثياب	clothes were exceedingly white
شديد سواد الشعر	hair was exceedingly black
لا يُرى عليه أثر السفر	no signs of journeying were to be seen on him
ولا يعرفه منا أحد	and none of us knew him
حتى ...	he walked up
جلس إلى النبي	and sat down by the prophet
فأسند	Resting
ركبتيه إلى ركبتيه	his knees against his knees
ووضع	and placing
كفيه	his palms of his hands
على فخذيه	on his thighs
فقال	he said
يا محمد	O Muhammad


أخبرني عن الإسلام	tell me about Islam
الإسلام أن تشهد	Islam is to testify
أن لا إله الا الله	that there is no god but Allah
وأن محمدا رسول الله	And Mohammad is the Messenger of Allah,
وتُقيم الصلاة	to perfume the prayers
وتؤتي الزكاة	to pay the Zakat
و تصوم رمضان	to fast in Ramadan
وتحج البيت	and to make the pilgrimage to the House
إن استطعت إليه سبيلا	if you are able to do so.
صَدقت	You have spoken rightly,
فعجبنا له	and we were amazed at him
يسأله ويصدقه	asking him and saying that he had spoken rightly.

فأخبرني عن الإيمان	then tell me about Iman
أن تؤمن بالله ,	It is to believe in Allah,
وملائكته ,	His angles,
وكُتبه,	His books,
ورسله,	His messengers,
واليوم الآخر	and the Last Day,
وتؤمن بالقدر	and to believe in divine destiny,
خيره وشره	both the good and the evil thereof.

فأخبرني عن الإحسان	then tell me about Ihsan.
أن تعبد الله	It is to worship Allah
كأنك تراه,	as though you are seeing Him,
فإن لم تكن تراه	and while you see Him not yet truly
فإنه يراك,	He see you

فأخبرني عن الساعة.	tell me about the Hour
ما المسؤل عنها	the one questioned about it
بأعلم من السائل	knows no better than the questioner
فأخبرني عن إماراتها	then tell me about its signs
أن تلد الأمة ربتها	that the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress
وأن ترى	and that you will see
الحُفاة	barefooted
العراة	naked
العالة	destitute
رعاء الشاة	herdsmen
يتطاولون	competing in constructing
في البنيان	lofty building
ثم انطلق	then he took himself +off
فلبثت	and I stayed
مليا	for a long time
يا عُمر	O Umar
أتدري ما السائل	Do you know who the questioner was?
الله ورسوله أعلم	Allah and his Messenger know best
فإنه جبريل	It was Gabriel
أتاكم	who came to you
يعلمكم	to teach
دينكم	your religion
رواه	It was related
مُسلم	by Muslim

رَقَبَة ؛ رَقِيق ؛ عَبِيد ؛ عَبْد ؛ غُلاَم ؛ مَمْلُوك	slave
أمَة؛ جاريَة؛ خادِمَة؛ عَبْدَة؛ مَمْلُوكَة	slave-girl
تلد, تُنجب	give birth to
خَلِيلَة ؛ رَبّة ؛ سَيّدَة ؛ سُرّيّة ؛ عَشِيقَة	mistress
