أولاً يا أصدقاء, دعونا نعرف كيف يكون شكل المقارنة و التفضيل؟

المقارنة : 

 تذكر أن المقارنة فيها than  بعد الصفة.

الصفة القصيرة تنتهي بـ er

الصفة الطويلة لا تنتهي بـ er لكن يأتي قبلها more

التفضيل:    

تذكر أن التفضيل فيه the التي تأتي قبل الصفة.

الصفة القصيرة تنتهي بـ est | ثم بعد الصفة of أو in

الصفة الطويلة لا تنتهي بـ est لكن يأتي قبلها most | ثم بعد الصفة of أو in

• We use the comparative form to compare two people,
animals or things. Adjectives and adverbs are usually followed by the word than.

نستخدم صفات المقارنة عندما نقارن بين (شخصين) , أو بين (حيوانين) ,  
أو بين ( شيئين) ..الخ.  المهم  اثنين.

يأتي بعد (الصفات) و ( الحال) كلمة than التي تعني (مِن).

الأمثلة:

Liam is shorter than James.

ليام أقصر من جيمس.

Abdulaziz runs faster than his brother.

عبد العزيز يركض أسرع من أخيه.

• We use the superlative form to compare one person, animal or thing with several of the same

kind. Adjectives and adverbs always take the definite article the and are usually followed by the

preposition of or in.

نستخدم صيغة التفضيل للصفات عندما نريد أن نفضل شخص واحد أو حيوان واحد أو شيء واحد من بين الكل لنفس النوع.

الصفات و ظروف الحال دائماً تأخذ أداة التعريف (the)  ويأتي بعدها حرف الجر of أو in.

الأمثلة:

Andy is the noisiest student in the class.

آندي هو الطالب الأكثر إزعاجاً في الفصل.

Hasna works the hardest of all her classmates.

حسناء بجد بين جميع زملائها في الصف.

Formation of the Comparative and the Superlative Form of adjectives:

• All one-syllable adjectives and most two-syllable adjectives take the endings –er in the

comparative form and –est in the superlative form.

small - smaller - smallest 
happy - happier - happiest

• We form the comparative of adjectives with three or more syllables (and some two-syllable

adjectives) with more + adjective and the superlative with most + adjective.

expensive - more expensive - 
most expensive modern - more modern - most modern

Formation of the Comparative and the Superlative Form of adverbs:

• All one-syllable adverbs and early take the endings –er in the comparative form and –est in the

superlative form.

fast - faster - fastest 
early - earlier - earliest

• We form the comparative of adverbs with two or more syllables
with more + adverb and the

superlative with most + adverb.

beautifully - more beautifully - most beautifully

•  not so/as + adjective/adverb + as

الأمثلة:

Khaled runs as fast as Yusef.

يركض خالد سريعاً كـيوسف.

Mary cooks as badly as her sister.

تطبخ ماري بشكل سيء كـأختها.

• not as + adjective/adverb + as

طريقة النفي: أن نكتب not قبل as الأولى.

مثال:

Hana isn't as tall as Reema.
