Talking about word building is widened but here am going to indicate the main points.

Adjectives :

How to make an adjective from noun?
By putting -ful or -less on the end.
For example, 
(useful ) is an adjective made from the noun ( use ).
(sleepless) is an adjective made from the noun (sleep ).

What are the other possible ways to make an adjectives?
-The -ing form of a verb.  e.g.  ( interesting )

By putting -er or -or on the end. That will give us a meaning to describe a person.
For example,

Compound Adjective :

How to make a compound adjective ?
By connected the number and the noun. The noun should be in a singular form.
For example, 
( five mile ) is a compound adjective. ( five ) is a number connected with the noun ( mile ). We used ( mile ) in a singular form instead of the plural form ( miles ).

Opposites :

How to give an opposite meaning ?
By putting some prefixes infront of some words.
Such prefixes are:    
dis-,  ir- ,  il- ,  im-,  in- ,  un-

 Adverbs of Manner :

How to make an adverb from an adjetive ?
By adding -ly to the end of the adjetive. Here you should take care of the spelling rules.
For example,
( tragically ) is an adverb made from the adjective ( tragic )

Compound Nouns :
How to make a compound noun ?
By putting two nouns together.
You have to know that the first noun is considered as ( an adjetive to describe ) the second noun.
The second noun is considered as ( the real noun ) .
The compound noun formed in :
- one word . For example, ( bedroom)
- or in two words with a hyphen or separately  
For example, ( lorry-driver ) and ( tourist bus
 
Notice the examples:
The first part, which is used as an adjetive to descripe the second part are (bed, lorry, tourist)
The second part, real nouns,  which are ( room, driver, bus )
