Writing Corner ركن الكتابة
We use relative clauses to make clear which person or thing we are talking about.
1. Use who or that for people.
نستخدم الجمل النسبية لتوضيح الشخص أو الشيء الذي نتحدث عنه.
استخدم من أو ذاك للناس.
I can’t stand people who/that cut in front of the line.
لا أستطيع تحمل الناس الذين قطعوا أمام الخط.
2. Use which or that for things.
استخدم which أو that للأشياء.
It’s annoying when salespeople try to sell you things which/that you don’t need.
إنه أمر مزعج عندما يحاول مندوبو المبيعات بيع أشياء لك / لا تحتاجها.
3. Use whose to show possession.
استخدام من لإظهار الامتلاك.
I dislike people whose behavior is rude.

4. Use where for places.

It annoys me when people park their cars on sidewalks where pedestrians walk.
