A. Think about your town or city. Write notes in the chart about the positive and/or negative aspects of
each feature.

Writing Corner زاوية الكتابة
Most forms of writing are organized in paragraphs.
1. Essays begin with an introductory paragraph that presents the main idea of the essay.
2. The main body of an essay may have one or many paragraphs. Each paragraph focuses
on and develops a specific topic; there is usually a topic sentence.
3. At the end, there is a conclusion that sums up the main idea of the essay.
B. Read the essay about Parksville. With a partner, find the main idea of each paragraph and underline the
topic sentence.
C. Write about the positive and negative aspects of your town or city. How does it compare to other towns
in your country? Use your notes from the chart and ideas from this unit.
